Renovation and re-life

Quality turf is desirable for a variety of reasons:it

  • controls erosion and dust;
  • adds aesthetic appeal to open space environments; and
  • provides a safe surface for recreational and sporting activities.

When conditions for desirable turf species become unfavourable, resulting in an unacceptable decline in quality, turf managers need to improve turfgrass areas.

When developing a strategy to improve turfgrass areas we:

·         Identify of the reasons for turfgrass failure

·         Assess the area using a range of diagnostic tools

·         Initiate a program of sound cultural practices

·         Review species most suitable for each particular situation or environment

·         Develop renovation and re-life strategies, programs and budgets

A successful renovation and relief strategy develops a proactive maintenance regime in that will extend the timeframe before a full re-establishment of the turf surface is required.
