Research and Development Grow Solutions plays an active role solving to today's vegetation management issues.
Grow Solutions are currently involved in a number of research and development projects around Australia and in the United States. Project partners vary from project to project but include Federal, State and Local Government entities, product manufacturers, industry groups, vegetation management service providers, turf producers and managers of professional turf surfaces.
Steve Hampton is the Project Manager for IVMP, the Integrated Vegetation Management Project. The project aims to identify the most appropriate vegetation management practices for specific vegetation management issues facing modern asset managers in Australia -with a focus on mown vegetation.
IVMP will trial integrated strategies using selected plant growth regulators, herbicides and nutrition, in combination with mowing and other activities, to determine what combination of activities creates a more economical, environmentally friendly, holistic and sustainable integrated vegetation approach.
Project outcomes It is envisioned that the outcomes will include more sustainable ways to:
- manage mown environments
- reduce risk of injury
- reduce costs
- improve environmental impact
- integrate vegetation management decision making into the planning, design, construction and maintenance processes
You are invited to participate As this is a collaborative research project, we are keen to learn about your vegetation management issues and experiences. We encourage you to take part in the discussion. Visit the IVMP blog.
